Stream and reconnaissance surveys are generally done to obtain an overall view of the habitat condition. The parameters generally measured included water temperature, pH, phosphate and nitrate concentration, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, salinity, E. coli, coliforms and general physical observations such as stream type, substrate type, embeddedness, bank and channel width, shade, overhanging vegetation, bank stability).
